Alpha Phi's philanthropy is the Alpha Phi Foundation. The Alpha Phi Foundation's mission statement is to empower women to be generous givers. We raise and award funds for programs that advance leadership development, encourage academic excellence, improve women's heart health, support sisters in need and educate about the value of philanthropy. This foundation donates it’s time to cardiac care, scholarship, forget- me-not, and emergency aid. Heart disease is the number one killer of women and Alpha Phi's around the world raise money to fund research and educational programs that support women's cardiac health.

The Epsilon Eta Chapter at ODU participates in several events to help raise money for the Alpha Phi Foundation. Our main philanthropy even, "Cardiac Arrest," occurs every February. Students, faculty and staff members are 'arrested' by members of Alpha Phi and they are held in our 'jail' until they are bailed out by their organization! 

During the Fall semester, we have recently begun hosting a "King of Hearts Auction." It is an auction/pageant of men around campus. The winner is crowned Alpha Phi's King of Hearts for the following year. During the show, Alpha Phi's raffle off gift baskets and gift certificates for the audience. We will be hosting our second annual "King of Hearts Auction" on Monday, October 19 at 7:30 in BAL 1012. Come out and support us and all your donations will be given directly to the Alpha Phi Foundation.

Not only do we host events on campus, we also participate in a lot of volunteer work within the community. We work along with the American Heart Associate all year long volunteering in events they host. During the Fall semester, we set up and participate in various AHA Walks within the Hampton Roads community. During the Spring semester, we volunteer in American Heart Association Gala by setting up and helping throughout the entire event.

Thanks to the Alpha Phi Foundation, women everywhere are learning more about the causes, prevention and treatment of heart disease. Alpha Phi's at ODU take pride in raising money for such an important cause, and are always coming up with new and fun ways to raise money for our philanthropy.
